10-10-10: A new start for the islands of the Netherlands Antilles
On Sunday 10 October, Curaçao and St Maarten became constituent countries of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The islands of Bonaire, Saba and St Eustatius are now special municipalities of the Netherlands. The Netherlands Antilles has ceased to exist as a country.

Higher standards for civic integration exam abroad
The standard of the civic integration examination abroad is raised. The pass score on the Test in Spoken Dutch (TGN) went up from A1 minus to A1.
